Organization
North Oakland Family YMCA
General hours
On average, I worked six to seven hours a day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. There were some days I would stay an extra hour or two depending on if the need me for help with after care. After care took[;lace at the ending of the day where kids would participate in activities until their parents came to pick them up. It started around 3:30 and lasted until the last kid was picked up, which was usually between 5 or 6 p.m.

- Gain connections in terms of networking in the sports and rec field for the future.
- Get a a better understanding for coaching.
- Learn how to operate a camp from the inside out.
- Make sure the kids know me just as well as the staff at the YMCA does by time I am finished.

Expected Learning outcome
While interning for the YMCA I am expecting to learn how the sports and recreation field works, while also learning what it takes to be a great employee in the sports field. Since I am involved with the sports camp I also want to learn what it takes to run a successful camp that will allow kids to enjoy themselves as they learn the different aspects of sports. In doing so I plan on leaving or even joining the YMCA with the skills to plan, organize, and successfully carryout a camp that meets all kids needs and interests.
